For this weeks edition of “Something For The Weekend,” we’ve roped in Tommy Royds from London-based promoters and writers - Zine & Not Heard.

Zine & Not Heard started out as a paper zine in September 2011 and is now a jack-of-all-trades, being a ‘fully-fledged’ music blog, distro and name for which we promote DIY shows in London, UK. Zine & Not Heard is Tommy and Joel and we got Tommy to give us 4 bands that he thinks the world needs to know about.

His picks are Dowsing and Annabel; who are currently on tour together and hitting the UK shores and Segwei and Doe.

Dowsing
For Fans Of: Brave Bird, Prawn, Nai Harvest
Dowsing are a 5 piece from Ohio who play jangley rollercoaster college rock. On the continual up, the band are part of the infamous Count Your Lucky Stars rooster, and there’s much to said about similarities between them and others on the label. In anticipation of their new LP ‘I Don’t’ Even Care Anymore’ the band are currently touring Europe, and it just show happens the next destination on the map is the UK. If you want sunshine and smiles, make sure you head down to your local town and check these guys (and girl) out!

in case you didnt already hear, the label Count Your Lucky Stars is having a week-long bandcamp sale where you can download their whole collection for free. that includes artists like Empire!
